New Identity Ritual - Inspired by Episodism
Can you see life through the lens of “episodes” - and create yourself again and again?
As someone who's very keen on exploring life to the fullest, I always seek ways to renew myself.
Recently I fell across the philosophical term "episodism" - watch this short video:
And also a lady on YouTube, talking about letting our past selves die:
We hold on to our past, and romanticise it
I've also read somewhere - now take it with a grain of salt, because sometimes, I just think out loud, and think I'm very clever XD - that we don't remember very well, as humans.
And i've even SEEN (well, in conversations with people), that we muddle several memories together, and take the median of it, and "kind of" remember stuff. Because it's easier.
Well - what I want to use that information for, is that we muddle the good stuff together, and we muddle the bad stuff together, and sort of create an identity that we call "me".
And obviously, we are formed by our past, our conditioning and our beliefs and environment. But it doesn't mean that it's static.
And if we are not consciously aware of what's going on - "life will just happen".
And this is where a cool little ritual can come in - and make you aware of what you want to bring forward, and what you want to let die.

"New Identity Ritual"
Prepare - As a proper ritual - do something to make it a big deal. Like lighting some candles, bring some crystals, light some incense, put some flowers in a vase in front of you. Bring things, that signifies energies, that you want and enjoy. Maybe even draw a witches circle around you. Whatever you feel like - if that's not for you with all the thingamabobs, you can just intently set the intention that this is important to you.
The Burial - get a piece of paper, and start writing all the things you want to bury. the behaviours that no longer serve you. The thoughts and feelings that no longer align. The beliefs that don't feel good anymore. All the stuff you want to leave behind. Write it down. You can start with a sentence like:
I no longer want to carry the role of…
These behaviours/coping strategies are draining me now…
I am ready to release the version of me who always…
The identity I am ready to bury is the part of me that believed…
After you've written it - thank it fr protecting you for so long, and tell it, that you've got it now. You're taking over. And you're releasing it.
Tear up the paper, or burn it, or throw it out. Make it a thing, that you are releasing this old self, and burying it.The "Harvest" - Brainstorm a list of things that you have from the past, that DO serve you. Your kindness, your creativity, your openmindedness, your intuition, your patience, etc. Whatever feels right for you.
Write them down, and write a ceremonial declaration.
here's a template yo ucan use:
I rise as a ______________________ (how you want to define yourself: e.g. strong woman, creative powerhouse, joyful rebel).
I am ______________________ (three words that capture your essence: e.g. abundant, free, unapologetic).
I no longer ______________________ (list the traits/behaviours you are releasing).
Instead, I choose to ______________________ (list new aligned behaviours or ways of being).I carry with me the gifts of ______________________ (strengths from your old self: e.g. creativity, resilience, intuition, patience).
I claim the traits and energies of ______________________ (qualities you want to step into: e.g. confidence, audacity, ambition, joy).I am reborn as the one who ______________________ (your new identity statement: e.g. leads with joy, brings energy into every room, creates freely, speaks truth).
It is done. I am reborn. The Rebirth - Now stand tall, and connect with the earth, and the universe, and if you have any familiars, or spirit guides or anything magical you want to witness you - call them forth.
Read your ceremonial declaration out loud, and feel it! Say it like you mean it. And with every sentence you say, move your body. Spread your arms, or stand even taller, or sway your hips. Whatever feels delicious and empowering to you!
And imagine your words fill your body and soul with the golden light of your new identity. Let it fill you up completely from head to toe.
Enjoy it, and bask in your new energy! The Seal - Now take your candle or flowers, or crystal or whatever you feel like, and anoint yourself with it. Ceremonially "finish the job".
If you don't have any physical things, you can just say something like: "It is done! I am reborn" Or "So it is!"
AND! Very importantly (if you want) - put on an energetic song, that makes you feel empowered, energised, sexy, whatever - and dabce it out! Claim that new identity with movement!

Just like we like to dance around the Christmas tree at Yule tide, or give out candy to trick or treaters at Halloween, or search for chocolate eggs at easter - we love rituals. They mean something, when we give them meaning.
Some rituals are for connecting with each other.
This ritual is for connecting with yourself.
If you do it - let me know how it goes - you can share in the comments here on the blog post - or if you want to, you can join my free community "Worthy & Rising" - and come hang out, inside the safe space, where you can grow and expand with like minded rebels.
Until next time. With love and rebellion.
