Sovereignty in Action: 7 Tiny Ways to Reclaim Your Power Today

May 11, 20253 min read

Listen to the blog here, with a bit of rambling:

Most of us weren’t taught how to be sovereign.

We were taught how to be liked.

How to stay small. How to be good and pleasing and unproblematic. And we were never told that true magic lives in choosing yourself again and again.

But here’s the truth, that I’ve come to live by:

You are not here to be small. You are here to be sovereign. And yes, that can start with something as simple as what you eat for breakfast.

Let’s talk about what sovereignty actually looks like in the day-to-day. Because it’s not just grand declarations or picture-perfect morning routines.

It’s micro-movements. Shifts in thought. Subtle rebellions against your old conditioning. And it’s deeply, wildly human.

Here are 7 tiny ways you can reclaim your power today.

1. Notice What’s Actually Going On

No change happens without awareness. The first, most rebellious act is noticing. Notice how you interact with your job, your partner, your body, your self-talk. Notice what thoughts spiral through your brain when you're tired, triggered, or alone.

Ask yourself: What’s really running the show here - my intuition, or my conditioning?

2. Choose Your Basic Needs (Yes, Before Everyone Else’s)

Let this be your reminder: You are allowed to matter. Drinking water, eating, resting, stretching, peeing - all of it. When you prioritise your basic needs, you’re saying, I am worth care.

And that is a powerful, magical thing.

3. Disrupt the Negative Self-Talk (Say Hi to Brian)

My inner critic? His name is Brian. Because "brain." 😂 And also because giving him a name makes it easier to lovingly call him out when he’s running the same old loops. I tell Brian to sit down and relax - I’ve got this now.

This isn’t about silencing your fear. It’s about letting your true self take the wheel, while Brian gets some rest.

4. Do Something That Brings You Joy (Even If It Feels Silly)

Magic lives in the moment you choose joy on purpose. Like when I pick up my pens and start doodling. It’s such a small act - but in that moment, I’m living the life I want. I’m choosing pleasure. And that’s powerful.

What’s your version of doodling?

5. Move Your Body, Shift Your Energy

Go for a walk. Stretch. Dance like a weirdo in your kitchen. Movement helps you return to your body - and your body is the ultimate compass. Especially when your mind is loud and your confidence is shaky.

Magic doesn’t always look like rituals. Sometimes it looks like a walk around the block.

6. Let Go of the Finish Line

You don’t have to finish. You just have to start.

That truth has saved me more than once. Sovereignty isn’t about perfection or completion. It’s about choice. You get to start something, change your mind, try again, rest, return. It’s your life. You’re in charge.

7. Remember: You Don’t Have to Do It Alone

Self-sovereignty doesn’t mean going it alone. It means knowing when to ask for help, and building a community that reminds you who you are when you forget.

That’s why I created the Feel Good Rebel Academy - a soft, strong space where your magic gets to be seen, supported, and celebrated.

Inside, we explore themes like this one (You Are The Magic), together. We use rituals, reflection, and rebel-hearted community to come home to ourselves. Founding member spots are open - but only until midnight tonight.

Come join us if you’re ready to make your everyday life more magical, more sovereign, and more yours.
