Expanding Your Pockets of Delight - Creating a Life You'll Enjoy

Listen to the blog + some ramblings here:

Hey, love 🩷

Last week we explored the idea of “Pockets of Delight” - those tiny, delicious moments in your day that bring a feeling of ease, joy, calm, or connection. And today, I want to take it further. Because once you’ve tasted that kind of magic… you can choose to grow it.

✨ What if your whole life could feel like a trail of tiny moments you actually enjoy?

Let’s get into it.

From Pockets… to Purpose

When you slow down enough to enjoy one of those little moments - a warm mug of tea, a deep breath, a silly song while brushing your teeth - something shifts. You remember what it feels like to be present. To be in your life, not just running through it.

And that presence is quite powerful. Because that’s where clarity lives. That’s where your true desires whisper.

You might start noticing that you want more of those moments.

You might begin dreaming up what your day could look like if it was filled with your kind of delight.

This is where you start creating a purposeful life - by stringing together a series of tiny, true experiences. And allowing yourself to feel them fully.

Because what is life, really, other than a handful of moments to experience - in your own delicious way

Radical Self-Honesty: What Do You Actually Want?

1

This is where the theme of this lunation - Radical Self-Honesty - becomes the compass.

In your pockets of delight, you create space. And in that space, you get to ask real questions:

✨ Am I where I want to be? ✨ Do I like how I show up in this situation? ✨ Am I being honest about what I enjoy - or am I performing? ✨ Am I spending time with people who light me up, or drain me? ✨ Do I feel like I’m living, or just existing?

And here’s the brave part: you’re allowed to want something different. You’re allowed to desire - connection, quiet, adventure, softness, luxury, time alone, or wild creative chaos - just because it delights you.

You don’t need to justify it. You don’t need to wait for permission.

If your inner heart desires it - it’s already yours, somewhere. Maybe not in this moment… but in the ether. The dimension. The sacred realm of possibility. Some call it the vortex - and I am still deciding whether or not to use that word - but here it is. 😋

You get to claim it. Bit by bit. Choice by choice.

Okay But... Isn’t That a Bit Idealistic?

Let’s be honest for a second. There’s a narrative in some spiritual/self-help spaces that says: “Everything in your life is your doing. You created it. You’re fully responsible.”

And I get it. But I also think it’s incomplete.

Because we don’t live in a vacuum. We live in a world of systems and structures and relationships and energy. We co-create. We’re impacted by trauma, upbringing, environment, power dynamics, privilege.

So no - I don’t believe that everything in your life is your fault or under your sole control.

But what I do believe - deeply - is this: You have the power to change things. You have the power to think differently. To feel differently. To act in a way that aligns more with who you actually are. Even if it’s slow. Even if it’s hard. Even if people don’t get it.

And that kind of power is the real spell.

Start Here: Expand Your Delight

Use those tiny pockets of delight as portals. As anchor points. In those quiet moments, when you breathe, when you stretch, when you notice the light… ask yourself:

👉 What do I want more of? 👉 What do I want less of? 👉 Where could I choose differently today?

And then do it. Just once. Or twice. Then again tomorrow. This is how you build a life that feels like yours.

It’s not about controlling everything. It’s about participating in your life with intention. And curiosity. And a little bit of rebellion.

You don’t have to walk the yellow brick road. You get to wander. Explore. Create your own path.

Even when people look sideways. Especially then. 🧙‍♀️

A Quote to Carry With You:

“I will not follow where the path may lead, but I will go where there is no path, and I will leave a trail.”
- Muriel Strode, Wind-Wafted Flowers (1903)
