How to Root into Self-Trust (Even When You Don’t Feel Ready)

The First Wobbly Steps

When I started offering coaching through Feel Good Rebel just a couple of months ago, I honestly didn’t feel ready. I put out my first posts, named my prices, and said “you can book me now”… but underneath, I didn’t fully trust myself. I was scared, I was new, and I held back.

Then a friend asked me to try something different - to offer a few sessions at a lower price so I could practice discovery calls, get feedback, and collect testimonials - basically get validation for my offer. My stomach dropped. I felt like I was going backwards.

But I did it anyway.

And what happened surprised me: the moment I allowed myself to be a beginner, I found clarity, clients, and a whole new layer of self-trust.

which road?

The Wound of Doubt

Doubt shows up the second you reach for more. It whispers things like: “Who are you to take up space?” or “What if it doesn’t work?”

In Scandinavia, we even have Janteloven - the cultural rule that says you shouldn’t think you’re special, or “too much.” It teaches us to shrink, to stay small, to not believe in ourselves. No wonder we doubt.

Doubt feels like a stop sign, like a wall we can’t pass until we “fix” it. But here’s the truth: you don’t have to fix doubt before moving forward. You can carry it with you, shaky knees and all, and still take the next step.

Remembering Self-Trust

Self-trust is not about being fearless. It’s about moving anyway.

Think of all the times you’ve already been there for yourself:

  • Getting up and making food when you were exhausted.

  • Saying no when it was hard.

  • Holding yourself when you were sad.

You already know how to trust yourself. You’ve done it before. The practice is in remembering those moments and choosing again: “I can carry myself through this.”

Practising Self-Trust (Wobbly and Real)

Self-trust is a daily practice, not a finish line, built in small choices:

  • Say no when you mean no.

  • Post the thing, even when it feels imperfect.

  • Celebrate every payment, every step, every tiny win.

  • Listen to your body when it speaks. Put your hand on your heart and belly, breathe, and actually ask: what do I need right now?

Each time you act, even when wobbly, you show your nervous system: I’ve got me. And that’s how self-trust grows. One tiny choice at a time.

An Invitation

Right now, self-trust is the soil I’m planting everything in. It’s the theme inside my community, where we gather each month around a Rebel Portal workshop and a 5-day challenge. This month’s theme is The Magic of Self-Trust - complete with a guided visualisation and tools to help you embody trust in yourself.

You’re invited to join us. Watch the replay. Dive into the challenges. Practise self-trust in real time, with others walking the same path.

2And if you’re ready for deeper support, I’d love to walk with you as your coach - helping you move from self-doubt into embodied trust, and toward your boldest goals.

Because you don’t have to feel ready to begin. You just have to trust yourself enough to take the step.
