The Power of Being Seen: A Practice
Hey love,
I want to share something close to my heart - a journey we just walked together inside the Worthy & Rising community. We ran a five-day challenge called The Power of Being Seen - and it was all about what it actually feels like to show up as your authentic self.
Not the conditioned version of you, not the version that’s been taught how to fit in, be palatable, keep the peace. But the real essence of you.
Because being seen isn’t just about putting yourself out there on social media or walking into a room with confidence. It’s about peeling back the layers of who you were told to be… and letting your soul essence shine through.
Step 1: Unearth Your Hidden Self

We start with the mirror - to see the essence underneath the polished and conditioned version you've created.
We’ve all been conditioned by culture, family, class, gender, environment… all the messy layers of “how to be human.” And honestly, it’s exhausting. But when you pause and ask, what is truly me? - you begin to find the parts of yourself you’ve been hiding.
Sometimes those parts feel dangerous to show. Vulnerable and raw. But that’s where the gold is.
Step 2: Feel Into Your Expression
It’s one thing to notice your essence - it’s another to feel it in your body.
This practice is about imagining what it’s like to live as your authentic self. To notice how it feels in your chest, your gut, your breath, when you allow yourself to be you.
This is where you come home to yourself.
Step 3: Face the Fear
Here’s the messy truth: fear will come up.
Fear of rejection. Fear of ridicule. Fear of abandonment. Fear of humiliation. Fear of judgement.
We’ve been taught to shrink, to please, to stay small. So of course fear shows up when you dare to express something real. But fear isn’t the enemy - it’s a protector trying to keep you safe.
In this practice, we gently meet the fear. We see it, honour it, and meet it with compassion. That way, we can move forward without letting fear run the whole show.
Step 4: Be Safely Witnessed
This step is one of my favourites.
We use our imagination - that magical, magnificent brain of ours - to practise being witnessed safely. To visualise being seen by people who honour us, who meet us with respect, curiosity, and love.
It could be ancestors, mentors, friends, even strangers.
And when we anchor into that feeling, we create a template in our bodies for how we want to be met. Then, when we show up in real life, we’re more likely to notice connection instead of judgement.
Because when you express your true essence, you give others permission to do the same.
Step 5: Show Up Authentically

Finally, it’s time to take it into the world - with one teeny, tiny step.
Wear the outfit you’ve been hiding. Paint your nails neon orange. Post that thought you’ve been afraid to share. Accept a compliment with a simple “thank you.”
It doesn’t have to be huge. In fact, it’s better when it’s small, because then your nervous system learns: I can do this and survive.
And often people will surprise you with kindness.
The Practice of a Lifetime
The Power of Being Seen isn’t a one-time thing. It’s a practice. You keep showing up, again and again, a little more yourself each time.
And yes, fear will pop up. But so will freedom. So will pride. So will joy.
This is what makes life magical: you get to live it your way. Anyone who says otherwise - honestly, they can go f*** themselves.
